november 2007 trapeze project

i spent the few weeks before my november 27th knee surgery making as many trapeze pieces as i could. the idea was to make them quickly and then let them go. i wanted to explore a specific mood, style, or structure in each one. they are presented here in order from the first to the last i made. the creation method i settled on was to compose a piece in my head on the way to the studio while listening to music, warm up on the trapeze, test any tricks or transitions i wasn't sure about, and then perform the thing just once, while videotaping, improvising anything that didn't go as planned. done.
